Using Google Maps - the default map style which our design team incorporated across the Iliffe Group - with templated labelling and icons to point to key locations and streets
This style has evolved over time, with minor updates every couple of years and a major refresh every five years or so
The Kent County Show is a regular client of the KM Group, with annual show previews, promotions and coverage and show guides; this show plan below was created using a mix of media including photographed built-from-scratch marquees. The graphic also had its 15 minutes of fame, featuring on an episode of the BBC show Countryfile
When the branding for the show changes in subsequent years, it is necessary to change things around a bit to synchronise with the overall theme - in this case: evolution not revolution
Encompassing map and listing with inset and overlays to fit into compact spaces
Before Google Maps was the go-to for mapping across the KM Group, maps of entire towns had to be built from scratch in Illustrator and retained as a graphic map template for re-use; this style is still used occasionally when roads and urban areas need to be depicted in a clear and simple style
Use of a stylised version of the graphic map template -Â it is more suited to this style of mapping for tourism magazines, than the usual Google maps
Sometimes it is nice to have a play with the usual vector map and incorporate it into a playful and eye-catching graphic
